- 1.With an aim to improve students’ employment competitiveness, these regulations were established in accordance with Ming Chuan University Procedures for Proficiency-based Graduation Requirements.
- 2.Undergraduate students who are admitted in the 2010-11 academic year and beyond must meet the basic Chinese Proficiency requirement to be eligible to graduate.
- 3.Undergraduate students must pass the Chinese Proficiency examination at least once within the study period. The minimum requirements, categories and target students for Chinese Proficiency tests are as follows:

Students studying in Applied Chinese Department should acquire higher test scores than the minimum requirements. Specific requirements will be established in other regulations.
- 4.Should any student fail the proficiency test three times before they enter their fourth year, that student must take the following measures to attain graduation eligibility.
(1). Local students are required to take relevant courses and re-take the proficiency test.
(2). Foreign students are required to enroll in a non-credit Intermediate Mandarin course and pass the minimum requirements.
- 5.Students who meet the minimum requirements for the Chinese Proficiency test should submit the original certificate or score report to the Applied Chinese Department for review. After completion of these procedures, the students will be verified as meeting the graduation requirements.
- 6.Upon being passed at the Administrative Council Meeting and approved by the president, these enforcement rules were announced and implemented. Any revision must follow the same procedures
